Happy Fourth of July
Lighting at dinner with architect Nils Luderowski
Lighting is lots of fun when you are dining with your great client, an architect, and his family. Nils Luderowski specializes in great Adirondack summer camps with a twist.
This photo was taken while I was dining at his historic brick house.

Lake CHAMPLAIN: a Natural History Wins an IPPY
Lake Champlain: A Natural History has won an IPPY Award from Independent Publishers. The group recognizes the best independently published books of the year. This book tied for a silver for Best Regional Non-Fiction in the US Northeast. Carolyn L. Bates Photography photographed the cover image from Mt Philo between huge thunderstorms over a two day period. She has several photos inside as well. Please go to LCC website: www.lakechamplaincommittee.org or call 802-658-1414 to buy a copy of this book. It is absolutely marvelously written.

The Beauty of Leddy Park
This Cherry Tree has to be the most beautiful tree in Leddy Park this spring. Hopefully we will be able to prevent any disc golf being in the park, and thus taking the chance that this tree will be cut down to make a path to a fairway. If you want to help save the woodlands and this tree in Leddy Park, please go to www.leddypark.org. Thank you. Carolyn

James Jeffords Science Hall under construction
The latest design by Architect Freeman French Freeman for UVM is under construction. Under the superb guidance of architect, Jesse Beck, it will be completed next year. Tonya West, also of FFF, showed me just how beautiful a construction site can be at night. It almost looks like a finished building!! But those windows are merely stretched with plastic sheeting.
Historic House for Sale, Burlington
Historic House for Sale. It awaits restoration. Great for an Historic B & B. You could have an office in the back for Preservation Burlington, who can supervise the restoration. To maintain the historic context, the horse barn could be a home for hippotherapy program and the prime ag soil used for community gardens. Contact my friend Lea Terhune for more information:

John Connell's newest PreFab house.
Hard to believe that this house is not only Green, but it is also a Pre Fab house! John Connell, architect, of 2Morrow Studio, and Gio, worked with me for three days to get just the right camera angles and styling to tell the story of what it really is like to live here.
